Latanya Bryant
Latanya Bryant entered a state university immediately after high school two decades ago. Though armed with a scholarship, the lack of adequate financial resources sent her home after one year to help her mother, a single parent, rear her siblings.
Twenty years working a variety of jobs at low wages, becoming a mother of four, for a time a stay-at-home mom with a child with asthma, and then four years ago blessed with the birth of twins, Latanya knew that in order to set the right example for her children and give them more opportunities, she had to have that education she set out to earn right after high school.
Knowing that attending a university is now out of the question, she found the ticket to her future at Pamlico Community College. Majoring in Office Systems Technology, she now has the opportunity for a better career that has eluded her for so long.
