Catherine Coleman

Catherine Coleman "To some, being laid off is the end of life as they knew it, but for me it was the beginning of a much better, new life. I got laid off three times from manufacturing jobs. In May 2003, I went back to DCCC. If it was not for the final lay-off, I would never have taken the opportunity to go to college.

By losing my job, I had no other choice but to train for a more stable living. Going back to school really changed my life. I can do things that I never thought I could do. I made the Dean's List prior to graduating.

I have started a new career working one-on-one assisting people who have special challenges. It's a rewarding job, and I am so excited! DCCC enables people like me to start over. DCCC is the way to a better life. I am in my mid-50s. If I can do it, anybody can do it!

The people you encounter at DCCC are wonderful. Everyone is so caring and concerned. Each day I thank God that I got laid off because I have a new life and a great new career. Each day I thank God for DCCC."
