Tosha Brown

Tosha Brown
I went straight to work in a furniture plant right out of high school. I was married and had my first baby. I worked in furniture for over 15 years and was laid off from my last job in June of 2007.

I knew I wanted to go back to school. I decided to come to CVCC because they had the graphic arts program I was interested in.

I love the program so far! I really enjoy the curriculum, and I love seeing behind the scenes of the print industry. It's so interesting watching an idea go from just a concept all the way to print.

You know, it was really hard at first. I nearly quit when I saw how hard it was and I was really struggling with the classes and studying. But, CVCC instructor Brian Morris was the reason I stayed. He was so down to earth and so understanding about how hard it was for me to come back to school after so long. He has been the best instructor I have ever had.

I spent a lot of my non-school time working with the youth in my church in Alexander County. Several of the kids are just not ready for a four-year school. So I am talking to them about what they are interested in, and I recommend CVCC and the graphic arts program all the time.
